FileMaker Server 9 and the “SLSocket55″ Error
We're still running FileMaker Server 9 Advanced (version 9.0.3.326) on a Windows 2003-based server. At least twice in the past month, we've had incidents where all write operations through the Web publishing engine (particularly through the API for PHP) have failed. Back in April I had run into problems getting FMSA 9 to install properly on a server running the 64-bit version of Windows. The Joy of Installing FileMaker Server 9 on Windows 2003 Server R2 Standard x64 Edition… Or not.
Oh, the joys of working with Windows! (Heavy sarcasm!)I spent the better part of the evening setting up a new server for a client. The server is a nice Dell server, speedy processor, plenty of RAM, RAID -- you get the picture. Oh, and it is running Windows 2003 Server R2 Standard x64 Edition with SP2 installed.
